

	Suminoe Brewers, Ltd. was founded in Kouka 2 (1845) by a shipping merchant.This brewery features quality sake that is shipped to be enjoyed throughout four seasons. This is because the phases of brewing are kept in tune with the best season for drinking the particular sake. No corners are cut: the sake is made using polished rice and won a gold medal in the year Heisei 11 Northeast Japan Sake Contest. Back in the Edo period there was Suminoe town and a Suminoe Shrine for the water god. These located west of the Kitakami and Suminoe Rivers. This is where the brewery was originally located.
