@Saura, Ltd. Founded in 1724. More than 270 years ago this brewery was founded to produce sake that would be offered to the gods at the Shiogama Shinto Shrine.
Early in the era of the Showa emperor, the sake was awarded a gold medal in the All Japan Sake Contest, and its quality has been improved on since then.
Our master brewer, Shigeichi Hirano, brews with a heart "as warm as intoxicating spring weather."

The sake gets its name Uragasumi from Sanetomo Minamoto's waka poem:

When Shiogama's
inlet hazes over with
pine-scented winds, we
will know that spring has come
over on Yaso Island.
